This trap is held in Jamtli, the regional museum in Östersund, Sweden. The trap is designed to catch Storsjöodjur, a mythical snake-like creature which is said to inhabit the lake, Storsjön in central Sweden. The trap is a metal spring release trap, similar to a bear trap.
