This collection contains theses and dissertations of graduate students of the University of Alberta. The collection contains a very large number of theses electronically available that were granted from 1947 to 2009, 90% of theses granted from 2009-2014, and 100% of theses granted from April 2014 to the present (as long as the theses are not under temporary embargo by agreement with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies). IMPORTANT NOTE: To conduct a comprehensive search of all UofA theses granted and in University of Alberta Libraries collections, search the library catalogue at www.library.ualberta.ca - you may search by Author, Title, Keyword, or search by Department.
To retrieve all theses and dissertations associated with a specific department from the library catalogue, choose 'Advanced' and keyword search "university of alberta dept of english" OR "university of alberta department of english" (for example). Past graduates who wish to have their thesis or dissertation added to this collection can contact us at erahelp@ualberta.ca.

3D Multi-view Imaging: Object Contour Approximation for Depth Image Coding and Multi-view Image/Video Streaming
DownloadFall 2017
Thanks to the rapidly dropping cost of digital cameras, multi-view imaging—using a series of cameras capturing images from the same 3D scene simultaneously but from different viewpoints—opens a wide variety of interesting research topics and applications. Among them, free viewpoint TV and light...

Fall 2014
The need for increasingly high resolution 3D models and the cost in processing high resolution polygonal meshes have made 3D point clouds an alternative for many researchers in recent years. Considerable research has been devoted to various areas of point clouds. This thesis presents three...

Fall 2013
3D reconstruction of transparent and specular objects is a very challenging topic in computer vision. The goal is to get the 3D information of the points on the surface of a transparent or specular object and accumulate the points to form the reconstructed surface. For opaque objects, the...

4-aminobenzoic acid hydrazide mediated inhibition of Microperoxidase-11: catalytic inhibition by reactive metabolites.
DownloadFall 2011
Currently, there is lack of clinical therapeutics for inhibiting myeloperoxidase mediated pathogenesis. We used 4-aminobenzoic acid hydrazide (4-ABAH), the most potent irreversible inhibitor of myeloperoxidase and microperoxidase-11 to obtain mechanistic insight on the role of reactive...
