SSRHC IG awarded 2022: The research has two objectives. First, we seek to understand how the blockchain entrepreneurship field is emerging in the context of tremendous ambiguity associated with unclear rules and the existence of competing institutional logics-what has been recently conceptualized as an “institutional void”. Second, we seek to shed light on the practical challenges surrounding constructing an "institutional infrastructure" that will enable blockchain entrepreneurship to flourish. We will do so by employing a mixed methods approach to understand how the problems associated with the institutional void in the blockchain entrepreneurship field are being addressed, and how these efforts are enhancing as well as inhibiting different forms of entrepreneurship.
