Assessing the Preconception Dietary Intake of Canadian Adults using a new, short dietary assessment tool: The PREP’D Study
DownloadFall 2021
Background: A self-administered, 24-question dietary tool, called the Diet Screening for Adults in Canada (D-SAC), was chosen for use by the Canadian, Healthy Life Trajectories Initiative (HeLTI-Canada). Assessment of the reproducibility and comparability (to another dietary assessment tool) of...

Assessment of Mechanical, Thermal Insulation and Water Sorption Properties of Natural Fiber-Cement Composites
DownloadFall 2021
The growth of awareness about the environmental issues caused by the construction industry has fueled innovation in sustainable building practices in recent years. Of particular concern is the need for solutions to reduce the high carbon footprint of current building materials such as cement and...

Spring 2021
A thorough overview of esters and their reductions is presented. A large focus was placed on reductions via homogeneous catalytic hydrogenation. Although several ester hydrogenation systems have been developed, the production of highly enantioenriched alcohols has generally relied upon the usage...

Fall 2021
An oft-ignored challenge of real-world reinforcement learning is that, unlike standard simulated environments, the real world does not pause when agents make learning updates. As standard simulated environments do not address this real-time aspect of learning, most available implementations of...

At the precipice of the Great Oxygen Crash: Redox-sensitive metal geochemistry in the Paleoproterozoic Onega Basin
DownloadSpring 2021
The middle Paleoproterozoic era (~2200–1800 million years ago) was host to some of the most significant perturbations in Earth’s elemental cycles, including the largest ever excursion of carbon isotope ratios in sedimentary rocks, known as the Lomagundi-Jatuli Event. This event has been linked to...
