This collection contains theses and dissertations of graduate students of the University of Alberta. The collection contains a very large number of theses electronically available that were granted from 1947 to 2009, 90% of theses granted from 2009-2014, and 100% of theses granted from April 2014 to the present (as long as the theses are not under temporary embargo by agreement with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies). IMPORTANT NOTE: To conduct a comprehensive search of all UofA theses granted and in University of Alberta Libraries collections, search the library catalogue at www.library.ualberta.ca - you may search by Author, Title, Keyword, or search by Department.
To retrieve all theses and dissertations associated with a specific department from the library catalogue, choose 'Advanced' and keyword search "university of alberta dept of english" OR "university of alberta department of english" (for example). Past graduates who wish to have their thesis or dissertation added to this collection can contact us at erahelp@ualberta.ca.

Compact and accurate hardware simulation of wireless channels for single and multiple antenna systems
DownloadFall 2009
The accurate simulation of wireless channels is important since it permits the realistic and repeatable performance measurement of wireless systems. While software simulation is a flexible method for testing hardware models, its long-running simulation time can be prohibitive in many scenarios....

Design and Microfabrication of Robust and Highly Integrated Thermal Lab-On-A-Chip Polymeric Systems for Genetic Diagnosis
DownloadSpring 2014
The lab-on-chip (LOC) technology could transform and greatly enhance the health care system by making genetic diagnosis tests fast, accurate and readily accessible. However, most LOC systems are not prepared to resist variations of their external environment, as they depend upon many...

Design and Validation of a Practical Simulator for the Development of Basic Nasal Endoscopy Skills in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery
DownloadFall 2015
Diagnostic nasal endoscopy is the standard procedure used by Otolaryngology – Head and Neck (OHNS) surgeons in detecting and treating conditions of the nose and sinuses. Due to a reduction in time resources towards surgical residency programs, OHNS residents have less access to hands-on patient...
