  • Abstract—This paper details recent advancements made to the control architecture of a 1:8 scaled multi-wheeled combat vehicle capable of eight-wheel drive and eight-wheel steer. The vehicle was previously developed to be used as a platform for autonomous navigation research with an autonomous parking algorithm being proposed and applied to the vehicle. Currently, a hybrid remote control system was developed to coexist alongside the existing hardware and autonomous software. The enhancements provide additional functionality during non-autonomous testing of the vehicle. Furthermore, these updates also reflect the networked vehicle architecture of next generation combat vehicles as seen in North Atlantic
