SSHRC IDG awarded 2023: The COVID19 pandemic accelerated the normalization of online learning, but prepandemic, debates were just emerging around the effects of these kinds of technological tools on student learning and how young people continue to learn as they transition through education to their chosen careers. This proposal, which aligns with two SSHRC’s Future Challenge Areas – Working in the Digital Economy and The Emerging Asocial Society – aims to develop insights into how technology may be shaping the cognitive and social elements of lifelong learning among students in professional education programs. Further, the findings will contribute to modernizing the measurement of lifelong learning in the digital era.
