SSHRC Awarded IDG 2019: This proposed research responds to Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) calls to action to
redress the legacy of residential schools and advance the process of reconciliation. The study addresses
two questions: (1) How might newcomer youth contribute to the TRC calls to action and reconciliation? (2)
How might codesign and strategic foresight methods facilitate dialogue between Indigenous and newcomer
youth to advance reconciliation and social change? This research study, grounded in the TRC principles, will
shed light on the roles of newcomer communities in addressing the calls to action and will contribute to
cocreated youthcentred strategies aimed at engaging new Canadians in reconciliation and decolonization -
