SSHRC PEG awarded 2023: The project will provide training to 4-6 instructors employed with the Connect Society, who in turn will, scaffold 10-15 students' learning of decontextualized literate language features in two languages: American Sign Language, print English literacy skills, and spoken English. Pedagogical support is provided through partnerships with instructors, actors, parents, and deaf adults to develop dramatic arts-integrated language and literacy interventions. Through partnership collaboration, the instructors will implement arts-integrated intervention strategies with their students. The research team will assess the outcomes associated with the training, the partnership collaboration and the dramatic arts intervention.
