Theses and Dissertations
This collection contains theses and dissertations of graduate students of the University of Alberta. The collection contains a very large number of theses electronically available that were granted from 1947 to 2009, 90% of theses granted from 2009-2014, and 100% of theses granted from April 2014 to the present (as long as the theses are not under temporary embargo by agreement with the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies). IMPORTANT NOTE: To conduct a comprehensive search of all UofA theses granted and in University of Alberta Libraries collections, search the library catalogue at www.library.ualberta.ca - you may search by Author, Title, Keyword, or search by Department.
To retrieve all theses and dissertations associated with a specific department from the library catalogue, choose 'Advanced' and keyword search "university of alberta dept of english" OR "university of alberta department of english" (for example). Past graduates who wish to have their thesis or dissertation added to this collection can contact us at erahelp@ualberta.ca.

Fall 2015
The coordination between pipeline and power line has always been a concern at the fundamental frequency. However, there is limited research on the impact of inductive coupling on pipeline at harmonic frequencies. In recent years, with the rapidly growing application of power electronic-based...

Volume and shape changes of mandibular condyles in growing patients treated with fixed Class II appliances using CBCT
DownloadFall 2021
Objective: Evaluate the changes in the mandibular condyle volume and shape in growing Class II malocclusion patients, following the use of fixed functional Class II appliances (Herbst and Crossbow) compared to a control group that did not have any inter-arch Class II appliances. A validated...

Fall 2010
This thesis is based on three papers on selected topics in Asymptotic Geometric Analysis. The first paper is about the volume of high-dimensional random polytopes; in particular, on polytopes generated by Gaussian random vectors. We consider the question of how many random vertices (or ...

Volume Fraction Sensing of Multivariable Systems using Multi-Resonances of Planar Microwave Resonators
DownloadFall 2021
In recent years, sensing and selectivity have been the subject of many types of research due to their practical challenges. The main issue is the limited number of output data that confine the degree of freedom to solve the unknown problem. The majority of multi-variable experiments seek more...

Volumetric Analysis Of The Alveolar Housing Around The Mandibular Incisors In Response To Class II Orthodontic Correction
DownloadFall 2020
Introduction: The use of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in clinical practice has seen a rise in recent years. Its usefulness as a diagnostic adjunct to traditional imaging modalities is undeniable, especially in orthognathic surgery planning, temporomandibular joint imaging, and in locating...
