SSHRC Awarded PG 2019: Children's early experiences and environments profoundly impact their development and the economic and social fabric of our communities. Given this knowledge, early childhood is a priority across Canada. Despite significant investment in early childhood in recent decades, Canada's children are falling short in key areas of development. Organizations focused on early childhood cite their inability to implement evaluation in programs, policies, and practice as a reason why investments are not having the expected results. The goal of the proposed project is to enhance early childhood system effectiveness by building capacity to produce and use evaluation data to improve programs, policy, and practice in culturally relevant and responsive ways. This work addresses a capacity gap identified by those working in the field of early childhood.
