  • Network function virtualization is a recent trend on Telecom and Data Center environment, which decouple network functions from hardware to software. It is applicable to any data and control plane functions and packet processing in networks. List of network function devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection system and network management system. In 2012 seven major telecommunication operator created group network function virtualization industry standard group (NFVISG) as part of European telecommunication standard institute.
