Imagining Community Housing Futures

• The research project "Imagining Community Housing Futures" led by the academics-community partnership group Community Housing Canada explores housing imaginaries that have shaped our understanding of community housing and their implications for investment in the sector. The project website (https://ichf.cargo.site/) was created to provide a platform bringing together research practices and public engagement activities. Shifting away from presenting abstract or overly simplified graphics in research, the drawings used for the project website articulate complex meanings and ideas regarding housing imaginaries through the use of narrative visual metaphors. This web-based visual content captures the dynamism in housing imaginaries and the historical trajectory of housing policy in the context of the Canadian community housing sector. More importantly, these drawings seek to function as a creative tool for engaging viewers, thereby enhancing viewers' learning experience in community housing.
