This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: The objective of this review is to determine the effectiveness of interventions targeting behaviour and facilitating uptake of new knowledge by healthcare practitioners, patients and their family caregivers to improve the management of cancer pain. Specifcally, we will estimate the effects of: 1. interventions targeting healthcare professionals compared to no intervention; 2. interventions targeting patients and their family caregivers compared to no intervention; 3. interventions targeting healthcare professionals compared to interventions targeting patients and their family caregivers; and 4. interventions that are locally tailored compared to interventions developed for more general target audiences.
