• The Politics of Libraries V Keynote Address by Sam Popowich critically examines the relationship between intellectual freedom and democracy. The talk examines how liberal democratic views citizens as fungible and reduces intellectual freedom to a private good. In contrast, an alternative view would have libraries view intellectual freedom as public good, and as such libraries must create the conditions for intellectual activity.
