This lightning strike presentation discusses the idea of considering community contributed and approved metadata to be instances of digital storytelling as it empowers them to use digital means to tell their own stories in the way they wish them to be told. The presentation was given at the University of Alberta Libraries' Open Ideas Symposium in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 12 December 2017.
