  • “Virtualization means that Applications can use a resource without any concern for where it resides, what the technical interface is, how it has been implemented, which platform it uses, and how much of it is available.” [1] There are many motivations why we need to use virtualization for each section of our network. Sharing is one of the reasons for using virtualization. It means we can break up resources, capacities, servers and even speed. Second motivation is isolation using Virtual Private Networks (VPN) which can be used to protect from other tenants. In addition, we can aggregate and combine many resources e.g. storage. Finally, network management can be easier due to easier distribution, deployment and testing. (As cited in introduction.) *Publication date not found.
