• The Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territoires has hosted a commercial fishery since 1945. There are seven Dene communities around the lake who have relied on fish from the lake and its inflowing rivers for thousands of years. This research considers the role of these Aboriginal commuities in the evolving governance structure of the Great Slave Lake commercial fishery.
