Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems within the corporate environment are changing into information systems. As such, they also are becoming information assets
within the organization and, therefore, they need to be protected appropriately, possibly via existing IT standards and strategies. This paper will show that employing an information security management practice standard, specifically the ISO/IEC 17799:2005 and supplementing it with SCADA-specific existing information where necessary, to provide insight into specific requirements and limitations of process control systems can indeed provide a meaningful guide for IT security staff in developing a security management guide for SCADA systems. -
