The Trinity Cathedral, also known as the Troitsky Cathedral was opened in 1835. It is a Russian Orthodox cathedral, built in Neoclassical style. On August 25, 2006, while under renovation, the dome burned. The Cathedral was restored and reopened in 2010. Floodlit at night, the blue domes stand out in the night skyline. Interior decoration is ornate. For the service, men remove head coverings and women cover their heads . The congregation stands under the large dome to hear the service. Many people light thin candles, which are placed in gold candelabra and candle holders. Women of the church circulate during the service to remove the candles that have burned down.
