The expansion of English develops it into an international language and evolves many varieties of English consequently, categorized into three concentric circles including inner, outer, expanding circle (Kachru, 1988). Culture as an essential composition of language learning, can be demonstrated and delivered by textbooks. This study investigates and compares the cultural content presented in English textbooks of China and Vietnam, aiming to explore effective strategies of advancing ELT textbooks in terms of intercultural communication competency.
