Stereotactic radiosurgery: options for Albertans

• The present report has been prepared following a request by Alberta Health in relation to referral of patients outside the province for treatment with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). There was interest by the department in the comparative effectiveness of the two main approaches to SRS (GK and LINAC) and in the current status of the technology. In addition, the opportunity has been taken to consider cost and organizational issues related to the provision of SRS services for Alberta, either within the province or through referral elsewhere.
