  • In1996 and 1997, three teenaged girls were murdered in the small town of Spotsylvania, Virginia, USA. According to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff ’s Office, investigating officers knew the cases were linked and they were looking for a serial killer,
    but despite all the evidence collected, the case went cold for over five years. Then in 2002, they received a break in the case—a suspect by the name of Richard Marc Evonitz had been arrested in South Carolina for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenaged girl.
