Care Labeling: Challenges in Harmonization

  • Author(s) / Creator(s)
  • Our clothing comes with instructions hidden in its interiors. If you are one of those people who actually read them, care labels are the guides to keeping washable softline items, like our clothes and linens, looking good throughout their lifecycle. Sometimes there are just symbols, but they are often accompanied by short instructive sentences, and increasingly, translations in multiple languages. As brands become more global, making sure that these instructions can be understood wherever a garment is sold and by whomever the garment is purchased by is becoming more important.
