Effect of Microwave Plasma Pretreatment on Desizing of Water-Soluble Polyester Size on Polyester Fabric

  • Author(s) / Creator(s)
  • Water-soluble polyester (WSPET) size is a new kind of environmentally-friendly material, which has good adhesion to polyester fiber. WSPET has good compatibility with other slurries, the viscosity of the size liquor is stable, the film has good friction resistance, and is easy to desize.1,2 WSPET size is widely used by the textile industry in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas of China. However, WSPET desizing resulted in a series of environmental problems due to processing with alkali or other chemical agents. The search for a greener way of WSPET desizing is now underway.
