  • Textiles have a lot to do with keeping us alive and healthy every day. For example, the air you breathe in your home or car is probably kept clean through a fabric-made filter. And that also goes for the water you drink—there’s a good chance the water filtration system in your home or office uses a textile of some type to remove impurities from the water before it comes out your tap. The important role that textiles play in both the air and water filtration markets is undeniable, and experts agree
there is still much potential for growth. In fact, according to BBC Research, the worldwide market for filters made of
nonwovens is expected to grow from US$2.5 billion in 2010 to US$3.5 billion in 2015. Additionally, a report published
earlier this year by Transparency Market Research says the global filtration market was valued at US$48.10 billion in
2011 and it is expected to hit US$77.10 billion by 2018.
