Making sense of digital libraries: An ongoing Process

  • Author(s) / Creator(s)
  • This paper briefly examines various perspectives on digital libraries in order to discuss what constitutes a digital library, the value or necessity of digital libraries, and how digital libraries differ from physical libraries. Critical avenues for examining key socio-technological aspects of digital library “history” pertaining to access to information are introduced.
