This document is an extensive checklist for the research module of a CIHR Project grant application. The checklist is designed to be used by anyone reviewing a grant application before it is submitted to a funding competition. Intended users are (of course) applicants themselves, colleagues of an applicant who are doing an informal review, members of internal review committees, and grant application editors.
Items in this checklist concentrate on strategy and grantsmanship.
Items that address readability and organization are included, as these factors have a strong impact on whether a reviewer perceives the grant application as being easy to read and understand.
