L'impact de la COVID-19 sur le vécu des enseignants en langue seconde dans une école traditionnelle.

  • In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a crisis that left no one untouched. Unfortunately, it spared neither schools nor institutions worldwide. Our research treats a small, traditional school hit by COVID-19, which the entire staff could not escape. The pandemic affected the learning community both personally and professionally: from administration to teachers as well as the students and the parents. The goal of this study is to examine how the teachers and the administration of the traditional school felt and experienced the pandemic and how they managed this crisis.

    In order to answer the above question, we have asked the three following subquestions:

    How were the teachers in this traditional school able to introduce new technologies in their teaching over such a short period of time?
    What was the impact of the quick incorporation of new technologies on teachers' academic teaching styles and their wellness?
    According to the teachers, what was the impact of the digital transition on the success and wellness of their students?

    This study illustrates the courage, determination and expertise of these teachers as well as the leadership of the administrative staff to ensure the continuity of academic success in the school.
