The Transformation of School Control Under Neoliberalism

  • Author / Creator
    Kastrinos, Constantine
  • The focus of this study is centered on the issues of control and surveillance in school settings, specifically the shift in power from traditional authority figures to neoliberal interest groups. This study examines how the traditional educational model, one that educates the masses and meets the needs of all, is deteriorating under the weight of neoliberalism and how the evolution of the new paradigm will result in the revisioning of schooling in North America. For support, this study turns to and interacts with current societal examples or case studies, other research studies, and to post-structural theory in order to build its foundation.
