      Canadian North is a northern aboriginal owned airline based in Yellowknife and serving Arctic Canada. This aircraft at Yellowknife Airport has the airline logo which includes a polar bear, the midnight sun and the Northern Lights (aurora borealis). The aircraft is a Boeing 727, the largest plane usually flown in the Arctic because of ifs fuel capacity for long distance flights between settlements.       The Con Mine tower is a landmark in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and is visible from planes landing at the airport. Ir marks the site of the Con, or Cominco, gold mine, first staked in 1935 and productive until 2003. The tower is scheduled for demolition in the summer of 2014, being too expensive to maintain. The mine shafts are a potential source of geothermal energy which could heat half of the city. A memorandum of understanding was signed in June 2011 between the City of Yellowknife and Corix Utilities. Photograph taken March 2012 from Rat Lake.

    • Teaching Health Sciences Librarianship with a very large team:

      Eleven practicing academic health librarians at the University of Alberta taught LIS 520: Introduction to Health Sciences Librarianship as a large team. This study evaluated the students’ responses to being taught by a large team and the librarians’ responses to teaching in a large team. Overall, both groups were positive about the experience. The librarians documented best practices for teaching with a large team.
