Description
Digital locations occupy an increasing part of our everyday life. It is time to examine how places in virtual environments can be a valid replacement for their counterparts from the material world without being a plain reproduction. In this essay the ancient idea of the Genius Loci is introduced as a framework for a new theory of virtual aesthetics that obtains its raison d'être through the analysis between a new socio-natural force and a new interpretation of architecture as designing of space.
