Basic principles covered are applicable to grant applications and other text-heavy documents. By using a section of a sample document, this resource systematically dissects basic document design principles. Specifically, the positive results of design principles such as proximity and spacing, alignment, repetition and contrast are explained and specific tips for implementation are provided. Aspects of efficient document set-up in word processing programs are also outlined: use of styles and spacing, type characteristics, and font comparisons in terms of usefulness and drawbacks.

Additionally symbols indicate whether the resource is written word, a PowerPoint, audio or video.
